In October of 1988, Mike and LeAnn Azevedo opened a small storefront jewelry store at Tower Plaza in Temecula. Together with their parents, Tony and Nancy Azevedo and other friends and family, La Masters of fine jewelry quickly became a Temecula tradition.

For twenty-three years, La Masters creations have graced the most important moments in many a Temecula celebration.

In 1999, La Masters of fine jewelry took the next big step, building the La Masters Plaza on Ynez Road. The new plaza and jewelry store allowed them to expand their jewelry lines. Now, the third generation of the Azevedo family, Stan Azevedo and his sister Leah Finn are continuing the La Masters mission to provide exceptional jewelry at the best price to their clients.

The Azevedo family commitment to Temecula extends beyond the walls of La Masters. Grateful for the tremendous support of the community, La Masters of fine jewelry sponsors numerous charities, events and fund raisers. Stan Azevedo and Leah Finn's continued community dedication is founded on the legacy of their late grandmother, Nancy Azevedo, affectionally known to them as Nana.

Nancy's personal commitment to community service was vital to the inception and growth of several Temecula charities, including S.A.F.E. Nancy helped launch S.A.F.E. ten years ago, and S.A.F.E has continued to provide life saving and life changing services and programs to children and families in the valley. They have served over 11,000 community members with basic assistance, domestic violence services and family case management, in large part to Nancy Azevedo's work.

"Nancy participated in our dream of building a community agency to care for those that are lost in abuse and violence," says Melissa Donaldson, S.A.F.E. Executive Director. Nancy's love, energy and never ending support of Founder Carol Nile's is part of S.A.F.E.'s story and why they are here today.

La Master's feels in order to be a successful company they have a responsibility to their community. It is this commitment that led current owners Stan Azevedo and Leah Finn, to sponsor a Dream Diamond Drop Raffle at this year's annual Denim and Diamond Dinner and Auction held last month on May 19 at K.D. Acres in wine country. Under the sparkle of stars, Temecula celebrated the 10th anniversary of Denim and Diamonds, with one hundred percent of the auction and diamond drop net proceeds benefiting S.A.F.E.

In memory of their grandmother's legacy, Stan and Leah of La Masters, donated a peerless one carat diamond valued between $7000 and $8000 for the diamond drop. "This was a great opportunity to help out with an organization that has done so much to help out the community and one that my grandmother was a part of," said Stan Azevedo.

Edward Atwood, the winner of the Dream Diamond Drop Raffle, donated the one carat diamond back to the event. Organizers then put the diamond up for auction, where Eric and Pamela Voit, of Voit Property Management placed the winning bid. "We have attended many of the Denim and Diamonds events over the years and bid on the diamond to support the many ways S.A.F.E. benefits our community," said Pamela Voit. "S.A.F.E. has always met our personal criteria for donations by being local, operating with minimal overhead, and truly touching families lives. They truly make a difference, and we are happy to support them in their efforts."

For La Master's third generation owner Leah Finn, their continued support of S.A.F.E. is personal. "It was our Nana's dream to make S.A.F.E. a success. We did what we could to help the 10th anniversary of Denims and Diamonds be a huge success."

Nancy Azevedo believed that parents, schools, agencies and businesses must work together in order to make a difference in their community. She, and the multi-generational family efforts of La Masters, have created a business model based on that conviction and they demonstrate this by leading from the front. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed, La Masters of fine Jewelry has been awarded two Business of the Year awards and numerous nominations.

Through the years La Masters of fine jewelry has continued to grow and expand their jewelry lines, providing designer gold jewelry, diamond jewelry, engagement rings, custom-designed jewelry and watches. So, whether searching for a statement creation or the perfect engagement ring for your marriage proposal, La Masters of fine jewelry provides the finest quality at the lowest possible price with the best customer service.

Third generation owners Stan Azevedo and Leah Finn are committed to continuing the exceptional work of their parents and grandparents, both as master craftsmen in the jewelry field and as leaders in the Temecula community.
